Luxembourg Gardens, Paris

4.7
#1 of 3,765 in Parks in France
In the heart of the Left Bank, Luxembourg Gardens is arguably the loveliest park in Paris, with lush lawns radiating out from a pond centerpiece. Inspired by the Boboli Gardens of Florence, these gardens were created in 1612 by Queen Marie de Medici. Whether you're by yourself or with a whole group, this park is a relaxing reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can watch locals play the legendary French game of boules or simply stroll past over 100 distinct statues. Luxembourg Gardens is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Paris Edition.

  • Due to the Protests, the Luxembourg Gardens were unfortunately closed at midday on Saturday. After we rounded it, however, we decided to come back another Day. A very nice Park that can be well integrated into a Tour south of the Seine. As always, however, the Season has to be taken into account with Parks, because there was not too much Foliage on the Trees with us. In Summer or late Spring, it's sure to be even more beautiful!

  • What an amazing Gardens. When I went there it was bright and sunny and the flowers looked amazing. I noticed that there were certain areas being worked on, but that did not distract us from relaxing here after long walks. Go buy a nice baguettes and some cheese and enjoy a small picnic on the tables there. I would highly recommend this place.
  • A much needed large public garden with lot of statues everywhere. Nice to visit to bask in sunlight. Lot of ad shoots happen in this garden with models flaunting their best dresses.
