Krafla Lava Fields, Lake Myvatn
Experience the rising steam and bubbling hot lava of a real volcano at Krafla Lava Fields. These fields include the Krafla volcano, one of the most well-known volcanoes in Iceland. A local power station uses the geothermal energy coming from the steam of the volcano. If you would like to hike the 10 km (6.2 mi) around these fields, you can choose from two trail options. Many recommend doing both routes, as they are equally scenic and take only about an hour each. Don't worry about eruptions, though: no dangerous volcanic activity has occurred in this area since 1984. Krafla Lava Fields is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Lake Myvatn Edition.
Krafla Lava Fields Reviews
その一つ手前にある駐車場からは、ここから西へ進んで別の火口付近を... more »When you head from me button to the east on Route 1, there is a sign to the 863 line on the road to Kurhula. It was a scene of the snow field rather than the lava zone because it went to the lava zone from here to the north in the spring. There is a climbing mountain route from the first parking lot to Kurhula. You can climb the Kurhula Mountain and circle along the edge of the crater. Crater Lake was completely frozen. From the parking lot in front of one of them, there is a hiking course to go to the west from here to take a tour around another crater, but I gave up because the snow was deep in early spring and the course was not well understood. There is no difference in height in the season without snow, and I enjoy it normally.
A great opportunity to simply walk and see a landscape that you will not come across again. spectacular in the snow more »
