Garden Castle Must See
World Heritage Site Quinta da Regaleira boasts romantic architecture and a lush park. Walk through the park and past lakes, wells, fountains, and statues. The palace, which was completed in 1910 and nicknamed the Palace of Monteiro the millionaire for its former owner, is the work of Italian architect Luigi Manini using Roman, Gothic, Renaissance, and Manueline influences. Notice the palace's gargoyles and octagonal tower, among other distinctive attributes, as well as its intricate, multi-level chapel. Take in views of the Castle of Moors and Pena Palace. • Really interesting architecture and history behind it. Personally enjoyed this more than Pena Palace.  more »
  • This is a romantic area just out of Lisbon. Its crowded during holidays. You need couple of hours here.  more »

  • A romantically designed villa. The well of initiation should be on top of your list. The property is big, but not too big to walk around. There are many winding paths through gardens, and all are worth exploring. It is a well maintained site. The carvings inside the church are beautiful. Great place for pictures.
  • Like a fairy tale garden with tons of hidden winding paths, caves, and beautiful greenery everywhere. The cafe has a nice view over the small garden palace. There are restrooms throughout the park. You can download the parks app here or even better in advance and take one of its four suggested guided paths. It's not as crowded as Pena.
