The political capital of Martinique, Fort-de-France has a thriving commercial center and a number of historic sites.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Thu): kick back and relax at Anse Dufour, explore the galleries of La Savane des Esclaves, then get your bearings at Schoelcher Library, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Jardin de Balata. On the next day, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Louis Cathedral, then contemplate the long history of Habitation Clement, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Les Salines Beach.
