Ayacucho remains best known for its 33 churches, with one to represent each year of Jesus' life.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Reserva Nacional Pampa Galeras Barbara D'Achille and Museo Historico Regional Hipolito Unanue. There's still lots to do: make a trip to Plaza Mayor de Ayacucho, view the masterpieces at Casa Museo Joaquin Lopez Antay, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Templo de Santo Domingo, and tour the pleasant surroundings at La Totorilla Centro Ecologico Recreacional.

For where to stay, more things to do, maps, and more tourist information, use the Ayacucho trip builder tool .

Expect a daytime high around 75°F in June, and nighttime lows around 47°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
